Itchen College students are celebrating a 98% pass rate, equalling their best ever results with 41% of students achieving A* to B and more than two thirds achieving a grade between A* and C. Vocational students have also posted record achievement with more than 50% managing the highest grades.
Principal Alex Scott said: ‘We are delighted to have recorded a set of results that equal our best ever. Our A level and vocational students should be very proud of themselves and the results are a tribute to them, their parents and our staff.’
Hollie Gardner is off to the University of Southampton to study Law after achieving AAA in Law, English Language and Geography. She said that studying at Itchen was "hard work but so worth it!"
Uniformed Services Academy student Oliver Moody is going to the University of Derby to study Professional Policing, after finishing his triple award in Uniformed Public Services with a fantastic Distinction* Distinction* Distinction*. He summed his time at college up as "amazing, I loved it - the teachers are amazing and supported me the whole way."
Christiano Fassoli said: "I had a great time at Itchen. I found all of my teachers very helpful and I am very happy with my grades." His A in Photography, A in Graphic Design, Distinction* in Digital Media and B in Extended Project Qualification. He is now going to Arts University Bournemouth to study Graphic Design.
Luke Lawley, Sam Warren, Christian Garnes and Jack Wilson have all secured places on Brighton University's Film Production course - they were all inspired by the media teachers here at Itchen to take up Film at university. They'll be living and studying together after achieving brilliant grades.
