Schools’ Liaison and Marketing Officer

We are seeking to appoint a Schools’ Liaison and Marketing Officer to support the provision of our professional Marketing team by providing a range of operational duties involving regular contact with prospective students and their parents. The position would be suitable for someone who already has some experience in a marketing department and has a proven track record of delivering effective and engaging presentations to large groups of people. The successful candidate would ideally have a degree and an outgoing, confident personality. They would be based in the marketing office at the college, but would spend much of their time in local schools and colleges offering advice and guidance relating to the college and its courses to prospective students and their parents.

Principle Responsibilities/Duties:

  • Support the marketing of the college by presenting at school assemblies and attending careers events, interview days, application days, revision days, IAG days and any other events as required.
  • Develop effective working relationships with key staff in schools
  • Support the continued development of links in schools and within the local community to help promote the college
  • Support marketing events held at the college for visiting groups of students in conjunction with the Events Marketing Manager
  • To produce promotional materials as required for marketing events.
  • To liaise with the international office and support the production of promotional materials for the International School
  • Interview prospective students for the next academic year
  • To give advice and guidance to potential students applying to the college, as part of admissions

 Hours: 37 hrs per week, 52 weeks per year

Salary: £23,170 per annum

Progression Mentor - Southampton Universities Network 

Itchen College, in partnership with The Southern Universities Network (SUN) is looking to employ a Progression Mentor. SUN comprises a number of higher education providers, further education colleges, schools, and other organisations in Dorset, Hampshire and the Isle of Wight. It is part of the National Collaborative Outreach Programme (NCOP) initiative. NCOP aims to increase the number of young people from disadvantaged backgrounds in Higher Education by 2020.

 This post will see the successful candidate based at Itchen College and working under the overall direction of the Assistant Principal (students), with regular liaison with SUN Further Education Project Leaders within the SUN Central team at the University of Southampton.

 The post-holder will be responsible for leading and developing the college’s engagement in the NCOP. The post-holder will act as the point of contact for targeted students, working with them on a 1-2-1/small-group basis, to enable them to realise their aspirations, supporting their social and academic progress, and encourage students to engage in local and national education and employment initiatives.

 The post-holder will work with staff within Itchen College to raise the profile of SUN and NCOP and will work with colleagues to submit funding bids to develop their own SUN-funded, NCOP-focused projects.

 The post-holder will work closely with Itchen staff members to support the development and implementation of a project programme that supports the overall aims of the NCOP. This will also require the post-holder to draw together resources from individual partners, training providers, third sector organisations, LEPs and employers to create subject/industry-specific opportunities spanning education and employment.

 Contract: Fixed term contract until 31 July 2019 (possibility of extension to July 2021)

Salary: £24,000-£28,000 (dependent on experience)

Itchen 6th Form College is looking to employ a permanent, part-time cleaner for the hours as outlined below.  The ideal candidate needs to have excellent attention to detail and be able to work as part of a team as well as alone at times, using their own initiative.  Previous cleaning experience as well as having previously worked within an educational environment would be advantageous but not essential. The ability to move light furniture is required. 

  • 20 hours per week, split shift

A.M shift Monday-Friday 06:45-08:45


P.M shift Monday-Thursday 16:30-18:30 & Friday 16:15-18:15

  • 43 weeks per year- term time plus 4 weeks during the holidays
  • £7.86 per hour
  • Start Date : February/March 2019
