CACHE Introduction to Early Years Education & Care Level 2
The aim of this qualification is to prepare learners to work with children between birth and five years with knowledge of children up to seven years or to progress onto the CACHE Level3 Diploma for the Early Years Workforce (Early Years Educator).
How will I be taught?
The qualification carries 33 credits with a minimum of 269 guided learning hours, or 6-9 hours per week.
Learners will need to be working or volunteering in a practical placement as an important part of the assessment process involves evaluating skills in real working situations. A minimum of 250 placement hours is recommended over the one year course. During placement, learners will need support from a professional within the real work environment who will be required to complete professional development records.
You will be allocated an assessor who will come into your workplace and observe you working.
What happens if I realise after attending the first class that the course is not what I expected?
If you think you have made a mistake with your chosen course please talk to the tutor as you may need a higher/lower level. If the college cannot find a suitable alternative course a refund can be arranged if it is requested within one week of attendance.
The qualification allows progression into the CACHE Early Years Educator Level 3 qualification.
Are there any additional costs?
All students will pay the £115 registration fee, £5 for the course standards and a £5 photocopying fee to cover the handouts that the tutor will provide. The course fee is £1,000 or a £10 administration fee if you receive benefits. You are entitled to have your course fee waived if receiving most means tested benefits.
