Award in Education and Training
This Level 3 course is an introductory teaching qualification relevant to all working in the lifelong learning sector (including further education, community education, higher education, business and commercial training, public and military services), who want to develop teaching and training skills.
It is the basic requirement for anyone seeking employment in teaching and training in the lifelong learning sector.

How will I be taught?
The course will have a practical emphasis, with scope to learn and practise different teaching delivery methods.
What will I learn?
This course leads to the achievement of 12 credits made up of units of study covering the following (some listed below are optional units):
• Understanding roles, responsibilities and relationships in education and training.
• Facilitate learning and development in groups and with individuals
• Understanding assessment in education and training
• Understanding the principles and practice of assessment.
How will I be assessed?
You will demonstrate your competence and knowledge in the above through a combination of practical teaching in the course and theoretical assignments. No teaching or training practice is needed other than that done within the course time.
The full qualification is worth 12 credits which give progression to the next levels of the Certificate and Diploma in Education and Training, should you wish to continue. Note that the titles of the awards have changed this year as a result of current Government requirements.
