This course is for you if... are keen to learn about all aspects of sport, from sports psychology to umpiring and all things in between.

We have strong links with universities including Southampton, Chichester and Solent and run an annual trip to Chichester to highlight the degree opportunities available in Sport. We also offer the opportunity of gaining coaching awards which combined with academic grades can secure your place at university or employment in a sport related career.

What will I study on this course?

Topics will vary in the first and second year.

Year 1:

  • Anatomy/physiology and sports psychology
  • Opportunities for participation in UK sport
  • Practical performance - you are assessed on your ability in one sport
  • Officiating role - you are assessed in an umpiring/referee role in one sport

Year 2:

  • Anatomy/physiology and sports psychology
  • How elite performers are developed in the UK
  • Practical performance - again you are assessed in one sport
  • Coursework - analysis of your practical performance

Extended opportunities and enrichment

We have our Academy of Sport which offers specialist coaching and teams in eight different sports. We also offer coaching awards which, combined with academic grades, can secure your place at university or employment in a sport related career.
