How Can I Keep Fit?

Itchen Sixth Form College has its own gym, which students are freely able to use outside of their lesson times.

Our gym is supplemented by the college's large sports hall, which enables students to play football, badminton, basketball and many more sports, as well as a dance studio where we hold our dance lessons.

Enrich your university application

Participating in sport is a great way to improve your university application whilst making local friends.

International Sports Session

Once a week the college sports hall hosts an international sports session. International students can use all of the facilities and make friends whilst exercising and having fun.

Sport for all abilities

Whatever your sporting ability, and whether you wish to play for fun or compete at a national level, you will be able to participate in your chosen sport. You can choose to play alongside your academic programme, or study sport as a Level 3 qualification. Training sessions and regular matches will be allowed for on your timetable as part of our all-inclusive Academy of Sport.

Local facilities

The college is also within 20 minutes walk of a leisure centre which offers fitness classes and gym facilities, which students are also able to visit and use for a small fee. Click here to visit the Bitterne Leisure Centre website. There is also a swimming pool complex located in the city centre which is a short bus ride away, offering 3 swimming pools which are open to the public to use for a small fee.
