Another Fantastic Year for Results!

On Thursday 16 August our students made their way to the Student Centre to pick up their results and celebrate with friends and their subject teachers.

Itchen has had another strong year for results, including:

Students picking up their results were excited about going on to a range of destinations including places at top universities, high-flying jobs and places on competitive apprenticeships.

Principal Alex Scott commented, ‘We are delighted with the excellent results our students have achieved, which would not have been possible without their hard work and dedication, supported by staff at the college and encouraged by their parents. I’m very pleased and proud, it’s always great to improve on our overall results.’

We spoke to various students who were thrilled with their results day grades.

Many students were celebrating with their friends in the student centre. Katherine Howick is now heading off to the University of Southampton to study English Language and Linguistics after receiving her excellent results of A*, A*, A, A in English Language, Sociology, History and the Extended Project Qualification.

Reece Anderson was also elated with his results, achieving an A*, A*, A in Psychology, Economics and Business. He will be heading to the University of Sussex to study Accounting and Finance.

It’s not just university that our students are moving onto. With an A*, A, B in Sport & PE, Economics and Business, Will Martin is hoping to become an Officer in the Army with plans to work his way up to become a member of the Coldstream Guards.

Sian Pegram is also celebrating after securing an apprenticeship with accountants Fiander Tovell as an AAT apprentice with an A, B, D in Economics, French and Law. She said “the support of my teachers in particularly French and Economics gave me all the preparation I needed to achieve the desired results.”

It has been another year of success for the college with many achievements in sport and performing arts, along with several subjects achieving 100% pass rates.

Well done to all students who received their results and we wish you the best of luck with your exciting future careers.
