College Turns Pink for Breast Cancer Haven Wessex
On Thursday 19 October, Itchen Sixth Form College looked spectacular lit up pink to raise money for Breast Cancer Haven Wessex.
Throughout the day our staff and students were wearing all different shades of pink to show their support which was great to see.
The fundraising drive and event has been led by the faculty of Social Sciences & Care, with students going around with fundraising buckets throughout the day.
To coincide with Parents' Evening, the college began lighting up from 4.30pm and by 7pm, the sky had darkened enough to show the pink college in full flourish!
Although the heavy rain threatened the display, the lighting team did an amazing job of keeping the show running until after 8pm.
Parents were awed by the display and many staff bared the rain between student appointments to witness how stunning the college looked.
It was a first for Itchen Sixth Form College and no other college in Hampshire has done something like it!
The college raised £400 for Breast Cancer Haven Wessex, and we can't wait to see what charity work is next for Social Sciences & Care.
