Another trophy is making its way to Itchen College after the men’s football team won the AoC Knockout Cup.

Playing at Walsall FC’s Bescot Stadium on Monday 1st May, Itchen defeated Carmel College 2-1 to win the national competition.

Two goals from Ethan Taylor were enough to defeat the Merseyside based college and bring the trophy home to Southampton.

Itchen were made to fight for their victory however, having gone a goal down in the first half when Carmel scored a 25 yard free kick through striker Kenny Brown.

Itchen soon equalised through Taylor after a low cross from Jake Willis-Dellimore and then in the second half he scored a second after being set up by Jean-Luc Ramdin. The boys managed to hold onto their lead and then they celebrated in style, lifting the trophy at the 11,000 seat stadium.

On their way to the final, Itchen defeated Strode’s College, local rivals Barton Peveril, Weymouth College, Luton College and St Charles College.

The win tops off an amazing double-winning season for James Taylor’s team, who also comfortably secured the Hampshire Colleges’ Premier League Championship; their eighth in the past ten years

Congratulations to all involved. Itchen College, AoC Knockout Cup champions 2018.
