Two Runners-Up Medals for Itchen’s Netball Teams

Itchen’s first and second team netballers were unlucky to come away without a trophy as they both finished as runners-up at a Versatility Netball tournament in Basingstoke.

The tournament hosted at the Russell Howard Netball Centre saw a new format of netball played in which every time a goal is scored, the players change positions. This is unlike standard netball tournaments where players usually stay in the same position throughout matches.

In the first team tournament, Itchen finished tied on points with Worthing College and Peter Symonds but were pipped to the title by Worthing who were crowned champions on goal difference. Laura Churcher particularly stood out for the first team.

The second team lost out to Peter Symonds as they finished in second place but Charlotte Reeves put in some excellent performances as an attacker despite usually playing in defence.
