Achievements & Opportunities
Our achievements include public showcases, annual music festivals, art shows, and the variety of creative partnerships we offer.
Itchen offers a variety of opportunities for students to achieve, get experience relating to the creative industries and make the most out of what the Academy has to offer.
Portfolio of work
Building a portfolio will provide you with authentic examples of the type of work you will undertake when working in the creative industries. Presenting a portfolio can also be a standard requirement in job and higher education interviews. Therefore, by creating your college portfolio, the Academy will be providing you with an excellent way to showcase your talents.
We want you to get first-hand experience working in the creative industries so that you can make decisions about your chosen career and higher education options. As a result, we offer our students various opportunities to get involved in work experience throughout the local area and in London. Students will also be supported by our Work Experience Coordinator and our Itchen Job Agency.
Workshops and guest lectures
We want our students to learn from the best and speak to professionals, so alongside our expert teachers, we also invite guests into the college to deliver workshops about the creative area they work in and offer advice on how to enter into that profession.
Trips around the world
Enrichment is an important part of what we offer as an Academy, so our students go on frequent trips to local, national and international destinations. In the past, these trips have included West End shows, trips to London and world-renowned creative destinations such as New York. Our students also visit art colleges and universities to attend creative workshops.
