What topics will I study?
English is important: a huge amount of what we do every day involves speaking, listening, reading and writing. GCSE English Language is about developing skills in these areas.
GCSE English Language provides you with a key qualification respected by employers and required by universities.
You will develop your writing skills for a variety of purposes and in a variety of forms (fiction and non-fiction).
The course will also develop your reading skills and will involve the study of a range of non-fiction and media texts and one literary text.
You will also work on being a good communicator in terms of both your speaking and listening skills.
What can I do after this course?
Successful completion will enable you to move on to Level 3 vocational courses and A Level courses. It will also help with many jobs requiring GCSE English at grade 4 or above.
