English Language & Literature

Any course which is part of our Creative Arts Academy or courses such as Law, History, Geography, Sociology, Psychology, Business and Modern Languages will combine well with this course.
What topics will I study?
This course combines aspects of the English Language and English Literature courses to study a range of texts and topics.
You will study travel writing and speech; imagined worlds in fiction; the poetic voice; conflict in drama and re-creative approaches to literary texts.
By the end of this course you will have undertaken a research essay comparing literary and non-literary texts.
What can I do after this course?
By choosing an English A Level, you will develop easily transferable communication skills that are very desirable for most careers and higher education courses.
English graduates enter a very wide range of careers in the media, public relations, advertising, marketing, publishing, library and information services and teaching.
