Christmas Market Trip for Functional English
English & Media
On Tuesday 13 December, our Functional English students visited the Christmas market in Southampton city centre.
As part of their English course, the students are currently developing a sales pitch for a market stall in Southampton. The group went to the market to do some research for the pitch, collect data and get ideas to help their work.
The students will be delivering these pitches to the class as part of a spoken presentation which will be assessed, so doing the research at the market was very important.
Despite the bad weather, the students' spirits weren't dampened. Marcus Whitney, the English teacher who led the trip, said, 'A good time and plenty of Xmas chocolates were enjoyed by all.'
We are sure the students' pitches will go well and the trip was a fantastic way to end the year for our Functional English group.
