Emily Priest Wins Unity 101 Award

English & Media

On Friday 6 January, Unity 101 held an awards evening to promote some of the fantastic work the station has done throughout the year and award contributors to the radio station.

These contributors included people from the local community, Southampton Solent University and colleges and schools such as Itchen Sixth Form College, Richard Taunton Sixth Form College, Barton Peveril College, Oasis Academy Mayfield and Regents Park.

Our former student Emily Priest, who is now studying Creative and Media Writing at the University of Portsmouth, was one of the winners. She looked thrilled to have won and was supported by Learning Area Manager for Media, Dave Newman (pictured right) and Rich Stevens.

The win recognises the huge amount Emily contributed to Itchen Radio and Unity 101 during the two years she spent at the college. Her hard work was also reflected in the fantastic A*, A, Distinction* grades she achieved this summer whilst studying at the college.

Well done to Emily and we look forward to continuing our fantastic work with Unity 101 as part of Itchen Radio and the Journalism course at the college.
