Welcome to English

The English learning area is well known for its academic achievements and is a part of the Creative Arts Academy. The department offers a range of exciting experiences and trips to the theatre, cinema, museums and residential study tours. You will be encouraged to enter writing competitions and showcase your abilities through local events and exhibitions. Students also have the option to add the Extended Project Qualification to their academic programme and pursue creative writing interests.

Imogen Eyles

Imogen Eyles

Imogen worked hard during her time at the college in her language subjects and achieved excellent results. 

She gained A*AC grades in English Language, Creative Writing and French. 

After taking a gap year to go travelling, Imogen will be going to the Russell Group university of the University of Southampton to study English Language & Literature. 

Talking about her time at the college, she said, 'Itchen was the best college for me.'
