Essential Skills Students Visit Abracazebra in the Wild!
On Tuesday 13 September, our Essential Skills students visited Southampton city centre to see part of Marwell's Zany Zebra trail and visit their zebra, Abracazebra, in the wild of The Marlands.
Abracazebra can be found in the main atrium of The Marlands, along with several other zebras big and small. The zebra trail runs throughout Southampton city centre with big sculptures from organisations and businesses, along with smaller statues designed by schools and colleges.
The Essential Skills group spent several months working on Abracazebra and were thrilled to see the zebra out in public. Along with Abracazebra, the group also saw several other zebras, including the main Zany Zebra campaign zebra, Gilbert.
Students Jordan and Babina also had a chance to see Zebracadabra and Zeb Go!, which were designed by their schools (Great Oaks and The Cedar School).
You can still see the trail up until 25 September, or you can see all the sculptures big and small at Marwell's 'Zebratastic Weekend' event at the Ageas Bowl, on from 14 October - 17 October. Find out more information here.
Abracazebra will be returning to the college after Tuesday 18 October and we can't wait to welcome the sculpture back to Itchen!
