Former Itchen Student Visits Travel Class

Geography, Travel, Humanities & Modern Languages

Former Itchen student Amy Darling visited our second year Cabin Crew students to talk about her job as a member of British Airways Cabin Crew on Wednesday 1 November.

Amy has been flying out of London Heathrow with British Airways now for three months and has already traveled all over the world, including Beijing, Muscat, Orlando, Philadelphia and Poland. She's most looking forward to working on a flight to Nairobi soon.

The class were given first hand insight into the application and interview process for British Airways, as well as offered tips and tricks to really help them stand out and get the job. Amy also talked them through a day in the life of a BA cabin crew member, recounting her experiences of day-to-day life in the air. She gave them all handouts of actual BA briefing sheets, letting them see for themselves documents that they will be working with in industry and how they can put the knowledge gained from their classes into practice.

The talk provided our students with fantastic insider knowledge into both applying and working as a member of BA cabin crew and we hope Amy has inspired them to continue working towards their goal of working in the air when they finish college.

Thank you to Amy for coming back in and we wish her all the best!
