Students Attend Solent Festival of Engineering
Mathematics, Computing & Science
Science students had the opportunity to get hands on with cutting edge technology when they attended the Solent Festival of Engineering.
The event held at Fareham Leisure Centre on Thursday 8 November brought together the south’s innovators and technology companies to inspire the next generation of engineers.
Students got the chance to take part in interactive activities including VR and robotics elements and also got the chance to meet real-life engineers.
Over 700 people attended the event including Fareham MP Suella Braverman (above in pink) who students had the chance to meet.
Among the companies showcasing their work and talking to students were QINETIQ, British Gas, Saab and NATS, a company which works in air traffic control.
Students felt inspired following their visit and there is a hope that future generations can help plug the shortfall the UK currently has in engineering graduates.
