Welcome to Modern Languages

The Modern Languages learning area offers a variety of courses, including A Levels for native speakers in languages such as Polish, Chinese, Arabic and more. The department encourages students to engage with their learning, including using a language assistant and digital technology in lessons. Students also have the opportunity to go on exchange visits to experience first-hand the culture and language of French and Spanish citizens.

In the MFL department we believe that learning a foreign language is not just about learning new words, but it's also about learning new cultures and new ways of thinking.
- Marie-Flore Hodgson, Teacher of French and Spanish
In 2017 eight of our A Levels achieved 100% pass rate.
