Another Successful Year for Care at Itchen

Social Sciences & Care

Our Childcare and Early Years students have seen even more successful outcomes with all students gaining very high grades.

Most of the Level 3 Childcare and Education (Early Years Educator) second year students have already secured employment within the local community, with many of them gaining full-time jobs within their past placement settings.

Students are gaining employment as Early Years Educators, Childcare Practitioners, Teaching Assistants, Special School Assistants, Children's Reps, Nannies and Pre-School Practitioners. We are very excited by the opportunities they have gained both in the UK and in Boston, Canada, along with other parts of the globe!

Itchen has supported our students in preparing for employment by providing opportunities for continuing professional development, a significant aspect of being in the workplace.

The Childcare and Education (Early Years Educator) course also enables students to progress to higher education with some students going onto university to study Primary Teaching, Social Work, Childhood Studies and Childhood Psychology. In addition they have also been able to secure part-time employment to support their studies.

We are also very proud of our Level 2 students who have studied the Introduction to Early Years Care, with most of them progressing on to study further. One of our students is very excited about starting employment this week with others soon to follow.

We can't wait to see what next year holds for our Care students!
