Sociology GCSE

Vocational Level 2

If you are looking for an introduction to Sociology, or wanted to study the subject at a further level, this course is for you.

This course is for you if...

...you are interested in the way humans react with each other in society, and are intrigued by behaviour.

Where can this course lead to?

Students, if they excel at the subject, often go on to study it at a further level with the Sociology A Level course.

What will I study on this course?

The course covers the same content as the A Level syllabus, but in less depth. Sociology looks at the study of human behaviour, and issues such as identity and inequality across society, and how these factors shape behaviour, chances, and actions throughout life.

Extended opportunities and enrichment

Students go on various trips as part of their studies, with the Social Sciences department running national and international trips. They also have guest lectures from visiting professionals, teachers who have published research in their field and undertake charity work throughout the year.
