...you would like to gain a qualification with a practical approach to coaching and leading others in sport based activities.
Where can this course lead to?
These two qualifications (the Community Sports Leadership Award and Higher Sports Leadership Award) could help you secure a place at university on a sports degree. It could also secure you employment in the sporting industry.
What will I study on this course?
These qualifications will help to develop your confidence in terms of leading and running sessions. It will enhance your leadership skills and will develop you as a coach and sports leader. These skills are essential if you plan on working in the sports industry or going into PE teaching.
Community Sports Leadership Award (CSLA): you have to complete various practical tasks like leading you peers in a warm up as well as running a coaching session. You will also have to complete ten volunteer hours.
Higher Sports Leadership Award (HSLA): you have to complete various practical tasks like leading you peers in a warm up as well as running a coaching session. You will also need to complete thirty volunteer hours in the local community.

We have our Academy of Sport which offers specialist coaching and teams in eight different sports. We also offer coaching awards which, combined with academic grades, can secure your place at university or employment in a sport related career.
