Junior Leaders' Field Gun Competition Success

Uniformed Services Academy

On Friday 7 July, our Uniformed Services Academy competed in the annual Junior Leaders' Field Gun Competition, held at HMS Collingwood in Fareham.

After over a month of training, in the sweltering heatwave throughout June, our students went up against 18 other colleges and crews from across Hampshire. They placed fourth overall which was a fantastic achievement, as they were the highest placing college in the entire competition!

The competition involves a lot of physical effort, as the team have to assemble a field gun before loading it and dragging it up and down the track, so we would like to wish them a huge congratulations for a brilliant end to the academic year.

Watch the video below to see them in action during the first heat. Video taken by Ellen Newman and posted to the Itchen College Junior Leaders' Field Gun Facebook page.
