Over 180 Students Learn CPR For #RestartAHeart
Uniformed Services, Law & Criminology
On Monday 16 October, over 180 of our students were taught CPR by Romsey Community First Responders, Hampshire Fire and Rescue and the University of Southampton as part of #RestartAHeart Day.
Organised by our Uniformed Services Academy but open to all students who wanted to learn, #RestartAHeart Day is an annual event that happens across Europe on the 16 October to encourage as many people as possible to learn CPR. CPR is a life-saving skill and the training our students received may one day prove vital, especially with many of those taking part looking at entering the Uniformed Services.
Our students watched an instructional video and were then taken through the process step by step by our visitors, working on state-of-the-art dummies which lit up to show how effective their technique was and which clicked to show them how far down they had to press during chest compressions.
With 180 students trained, the day was a success and we thank everyone who attended for coming along.
