Dance Students Work With World Class Performers

Visual & Performing Arts

Monday 5 June may have been the first day back after Half Term, but it was a busy one for our Dance students as EDge, the postgraduate performance company of the London Contemporary Dance School, ran a professional workshop in college.

EDge is a world-class conservatoire, offering vocational training to the highest technical and artistic standards in its undergraduate, taught postgraduate and research programmes, and at a pre-vocational level through their Centre for Advanced Training.

It was an excellent opportunity for our students to learn about the different pathways open to them once they leave Itchen, as well as for them to experience what training with such a prestigious dance school might be like.

Our students have also been given the chance to see the company perform three new works by Tony Adigun, Patricia Okenwa, Karen and Allen Kaeja, as well as Strange Blooms, a restaging of the Shobana Jeyasingh creation that explores the anatomy of plant cells under a microscope, at The Point Theatre in Eastleigh tonight (Tuesday 6 June). We hope they have a fantastic time.
