Students Visited By PatchworX
Visual & Performing Arts
On Thursday 22 June our A level Drama and BTEC Acting students were given a performance by theatre company PatchworX, who performed their play 'Pramkicker'.
Written by Sadie Hasler and performed by Southampton Solent University BA (Hons) Performance students Fiona Lynn (Jude) and Jenna-Mae Hibbs (Susie), Pramkicker follows the story of two sisters, Jude and Susie.
Jude has never wanted and will never want kids and after a little altercation in a local coffee shop with a stuck-up, snobby mother, Jude snaps and kicks a pram. In order to avoid the clink, Jude agrees to take part in anger management therapy, and Susie comes along to provide moral support. The play begins in this first anger management session, and as the story unfolds, we discover the secrets of Jude's past and the secrets of Susie's present. The sisters, by opening up to one another and finally telling the truth, become much closer and begin to restore the bond they once had as children.
The play showed our students the high level of work they could be part of when they leave Itchen and what they could achieve in Higher Education. Thank you to Fiona and Jenna-Mae for coming in to perform for our students and we look forward to working with PatchworX again in the future.
