Digital Skills for the Unemployed

Itchen College have been awarded funding through ESF Solent Supporting Employment Grant (SSE) Programme to run digital skills projects in the Southampton area. The Solent Supporting Employment Programme has been set up to reach and work with individuals facing complex barriers to employment, enabling them to move closer towards or into employment. This project is part-funded by the European Social Fund.
Itchen College have two types of courses being funded under this project;
- Digital Skills for finding work
- Digital skills for a career in the digital sector
Digital skills for finding work is aimed at participants who find the digital world a barrier to finding employment. This course will support participants to learn and develop the necessary skills to enable them to effectively search and apply for vacancies. One to one support will be provided at the end of the course to ensure that participants are encouraged to embed and utilise their new skills and to help them to find and apply for employment opportunities.
Digital skills for a career in the digital sector is aimed at participants who want to pursue employment opportunities in the digital sector. Working in Partnership with Computer Xplorers and The Princes Trust, this programme will support participants to gain the confidence, knowledge and skills they need to apply for roles.
