Here at Itchen, we believe in lifelong learning, which means that learning does not have to end once you have left school. We run a range of adult learning courses, including courses for Access to Higher Education, a range of GCSEs and Functional Skills as well as a variety of Health and Social Care courses. Enrolment for Adult Education courses in Access to HE classroom courses, GCSE, Functional Skills, ESOL, Supporting Teaching and Learning and Early Years for 22/23 have now closed, we will reopen for 23/24 intake in March 2023.
David came to Itchen as an adult education student, which prepared him to study a degree in Nursing at the University of Southampton.
During his time at Southampton, David won a Dean's award for excellence and then went on to work as a nurse at Southampton General where he currently still works.
David is also a keen runner and he won the 2017 Southampton Marathon. His dad Tim also played for Southampton FC in the 1970s.
Chris studied 'Brush Up Your English' and 'Brush Up Your Maths' with us at Itchen with the aim of becoming a paramedic.
After passing his exams, Chris joined the South Central Ambulance Service as an emergency care assistant.
During one call out, he was part of a team who saved the life of a cardiac arrest sufferer, using defibrillators and CPR to save the man's life.
