Sports Students Visit London

Academy of Sport

On Tuesday 3 October, 20 A Level Sport & PE students went on a two-day residential trip to London where they visited Wimbledon and the Olympic Park.

At Wimbledon, our students participated in a technology workshop where they learnt about technology and the history of tennis. They also visited Centre Court, the BBC Press Room and the Wimbledon Lawn Tennis Museum where they saw the famous trophies.

The following day the students participated in a walking tour of the Olympic Park. This is directly linked to what they are studying: the history and hosting of the Olympics. The students visited the Aquatics Centre, the Copper Box and the Velodrome. They were very impressed with the facilities and experienced the lasting legacy of the London 2012 Olympics.

We look forward to taking more students on trips like this in the future.
