Business Students Raise Money For Local Charities

The Faculty of Business has been busy fundraising for local charities, including Capable Creatures and Southampton Hospital Charity.

Our students raised over £60 for Capable Creatures through cake sales in the Student Centre, which were presented to charity founder Lise Marron and her assistance dog Daithí. She founded the Southampton-based charity after she was attacked by a group of youths in 2002 and found that having Daithí changed her life, wanting to give others with mental health conditions the chance to improve their lives through assistance dogs.

A sweet sale was also held in January to raise money for Southampton Hospital Charity. Proceeds are being counted and will be awarded to the charity in due course.

Not only do hosting these charity events raise money for deserving causes, it also gives our students valuable business experience that they can put to good use both on their course and in the workplace.
