Supporting your future

Apply

Joining Itchen Sixth Form College this September? We’re looking forward to welcoming you.

If you’ve received your GCSE results and are joining us at Itchen, your next step is enrolment.

Enrolment is your opportunity to confirm your course choices, provide your results and speak to our specialist staff about your next steps.

Enrolment takes place from 20–26 August 2026 and is face-to-face at Itchen Sixth Form College.

Whether your results are exactly what you hoped for or you’re not quite sure what comes next, our team is here to support you.

What happens at enrolment?

When you arrive at Itchen, a member of our team will meet you and guide you through the enrolment process.

During your appointment, you’ll receive personal advice and guidance from specialist staff to help you make sensible course decisions and choose the right programme for you.

Please allow up to 90 minutes for your enrolment appointment.

There’s no need to worry if you’re unsure about anything. We’ll carefully guide you through each stage of the process.

Don’t forget your exam results

Please bring ALL of your exam results slips and/or certificates with you to your enrolment appointment.

We need to see your results before you can complete enrolment.

Make sure you bring any documentation you have received from your school or exam centre.

You will not be able to complete enrolment until we have seen all of your exam results.

What else do I need to bring?

Depending on your circumstances, you may also need to bring:

Photographic ID

Please bring photographic ID if you have not already shown this at interview, or if your interview took place by telephone.

Exam Access Arrangement paperwork

If you had Exam Access Arrangements (EAA) at school, such as 25% extra time, a reader or a scribe, please bring your Form 8 and any other relevant paperwork.

Non-UK passport and residency documents

If you hold a Non-UK Passport, please provide valid proof of your residency status.

Payments

If you have not been able to make payments before enrolment using the college’s online payment system, you can bring cash, card or cheque with you.

This may include:

  • College Fund: £30
  • College contract bus: £650

Before your enrolment appointment

There are a few things we ask students and parents/guardians to complete before attending enrolment.

Completing these in advance will help us keep the enrolment process as simple and efficient as possible.

College contract bus

If you are planning to use a college contract bus, payments can be made through the college online shop.

Bus pass: £650

This can be paid in two instalments:

  • £325 before or at enrolment
  • £325 by 31 January 2027

Bus passes can be collected at enrolment.

If you have any questions about the college contract bus, please contact:

studentfinance@itchen.ac.uk

Financial support

If you would like to apply for Itchen Financial Support (IFS), you will need to complete the online application form and provide the required supporting evidence.

Applications should be completed and submitted with supporting evidence by 31 July 2026.

You can find the application and further information on the Itchen website.

Free college meals

If you think you may be eligible for Free College Meals, you can apply through the Financial Support section of the Itchen website.

You will need to provide household income evidence to support your application.

College Fund

The College Fund is £30 per year and can be paid through the college online shop.

The College Fund is used to enhance the student environment. In the past, this has included additional outdoor seating and tables and improvements to furniture in the College Centre canteen area.

Medical and parental consent

All students are required to complete the college’s medical and parental consent form before enrolment.

If you have received an individual link to this form, please complete it before attending your enrolment appointment.

If a student has a significant medical condition, such as:

  • Asthma
  • Heart conditions
  • Anaphylaxis
  • Seizures
  • Diabetes

please provide an Individual Health Care Plan (IHCP) for the condition.

IHCPs should be emailed to the College Nurse, Alice Powell, at:

apowell@itchen.ac.uk

What if I didn’t get the results I hoped for?

Don’t panic – we’re here to help.

If your results aren’t what you expected, it doesn’t necessarily mean your plans have to change completely.

Our specialist staff can help you explore your options, discuss what happens next and work with you to find the best route forward.

Come and speak to us at enrolment. We’ll listen to your situation, answer your questions and help you understand what you can do next.
