“After arriving at Itchen in 2023, I thoroughly enjoyed A Level History in all its aspects, from the course to the community and the teachers. The class environment in History is one of the best parts; it is very focused, whilst also being supportive, encouraging and fun. The course itself provides three fascinating areas of study, each with their own characteristics and specific points of interest. We learn about the transformation of England under the Tudors, the period of German history that includes the Weimar Republic and the Nazi dictatorship, as well as for the coursework component, covering the development of civil rights for Black Americans between the 1860's and the 1960's. As someone who really enjoys history as a subject, and will be going on to do History as a degree at the University of Reading, I can say that this course is an excellent choice if you are interested in learning about the importance of the past.”
