Welcome to Uniformed Protective Services

The faculty of Uniformed Protective Services is exciting and diverse in subject content, offering its students a variety of opportunities.

Our Uniformed Protective Services Academy provides a realistic environment for those wishing to enter the uniformed protective services after college. The dynamic teaching team have extensive uniformed service experience to draw upon and students regularly go on enrichment trips to compete against other colleges, work with the services and complete extra-curricular qualifications such as the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award.

“My time at Itchen Sixth Form College studying the Level 3 Uniformed Protective Services course has been incredibly rewarding and instrumental in shaping my career path. The course not only gave me a deep understanding of the Protective Services sector but also offered amazing practical experiences, including CTSFO (Counter Terrorist Specialist Firearms Officer) training scenarios. These opportunities, combined with the ongoing support from my teachers, helped me grow in confidence and solidity my ambition to join the police. I'm now moving on to do a Police Constable Degree Apprenticeship with Hampshire Constabulary and I feel well-prepared for the challenges ahead, thanks to the strong foundation built on the Uniformed Services Course at Itchen.”
