This course is for those who have not yet achieved a grade C/4 in GCSE English or for those who would like to improve their existing grade to a grade 4 or more. Students are required to read and analyse a wide range of fiction and non-fiction texts in class from classic literary texts to current affairs articles and examples of creative writing. We also develop summarising and writing analytically as well as descriptive and narrative writing. This course follows the AQA syllabus for GCSE English language. To be successful a good standard of English is required including spelling, punctuation and grammar.
Students are set weekly homework to improve their skills and knowledge and consolidate classwork.
We anticipate homework to require 3 hours independent study per week.
The government will fund you to complete GCSE English/Math qualification until you achieve a (Grade 4/C) or higher.
If you have already achieved Grade 4/C and wish to continue your studies to achieve a higher grade the cost of this
course is £382.
£10 non-refundable administration fee which provides you with £11 print credit to use in college.
