Being an exchange student is something that I’ve always dreamed about. Getting to know new people from all over the world; feeling independent and ready to put in “your own personal luggage” as much as possible; having again a blank page on which it’s time to write about something extraordinary that can change your life, is something irreplaceable. I arrived in Southampton, at Itchen College three weeks ago and I can swear that they have passed in a snap of the fingers and that until now, I can only say that being here is fantastic!
I’m really enjoying life at the college and I’m finding it amazing that the school also organises a lot of extra-curricular activities for their students! Apart from all of the enrichments for which we can do between our lessons, that give us the possibility to experience a lot of new things, as an exchange student, I have also attended a treasure hunt in the city center, an international pizza night and my favourite one: a day at Thorpe Park. That was SO fun. I’ve found it unbelievable that the school had organised a school trip to the rollercoasters to let us get to know each other in the first days.
I also took part in the Culture Shock Podcast too – it was so exciting to go into the Itchen Radio studio to record: it was so professional and it made me feel like a celebrity! It was amazing to talk about my experiences with my friends and share my list of places to visit!
I couldn’t say anything different from: “that has been wonderful!” and it’s been very useful to create the first bonds too! I think that was one of my favourite days here!I’m looking forward to making as many new experiences and to feeling as many strong emotions as I can, to create loads of unforgettable memories!
