Psychology students were able to participate in a live online Q&A with Professor Elizabeth Loftus. This was a rare opportunity to speak to a prominent psychologist in the field of memory and the misinformation effect. Students were able to build on their learning of Professor Loftus’ classic research to truly appreciate the wider social implications of her work in the field of eyewitness testimony. This was an inspiring talk for students who heard Loftus talk about how she became interested in psychology as a career, her inspiration for studying memory and misinformation, the real cases that spurred this interest and also a personal insight into Loftus’ own memories.
