Careers and Higher Education Guidance parent

Our Student Support department are in charge of advising students on careers and university. Our careers advisor, works with students to run careers activities, trips and offer guidance. We also have UCAS advisers, who will help students on the process to applying to university.

You can speak to members of the Student Support team in W25, on our parents’ evenings and college open evenings. Our main careers event is held in February, where local universities, training providers and employers have stands which the students can visit to collect information about potential careers.

Higher education is an extremely important part of the ‘Next Steps’ guidance at Itchen and we encourage students to find out more about higher education options through several methods. These methods include:

• Higher education fairs
• Higher education visits
• University taster events
• Visiting speakers from higher education institutions
• Higher education twilight events for parents and students
• Specialist support for Oxford and Cambridge applications through the High Performance Academy

There is also UCAS guidance and workshops delivered by our Student Services team and UCAS advisors.
