Level 1 Art and Design

Over this one-year foundation course, you will take part in a wide range of creative projects and experiment with different materials, tools, and techniques.

You will explore:

• Drawing and Painting Techniques
  Learn the basics of sketching, mark-making, shading, and working with colour and different media.
• 3D Design and Sculpture
  Get hands-on with model-making, construction techniques, and mixed-media sculpture.
• Textiles and Surface Design
  Explore fabrics, textures, and patterns while learning how to create visual impact through textile-based art.
• Graphic and Digital Design
  Discover layout, lettering, and visual storytelling, with opportunities to experiment with digital tools.
• Art History and Inspiration
  Learn about famous artists, styles, and movements to inspire your own ideas and projects.
• Final Project
  You’ll plan and complete your own creative project from start to finish, showcasing all the skills you’ve learned.

This course helps you build a strong creative foundation, including:

• Drawing, design, and composition

• Planning and presenting finished artwork
