LEVEL 2

The aim of this qualification is to prepare learners to work with children between birth and 5 years (with knowledge of children up to 7 years) or to enable progression onto the Level 3 Diploma for Working in the Early Years Sector (Early Years Educator).

Learners will need to be working or volunteering in a practical placement because an important part of the assessment process involves evaluation of skills in real working situations.

A minimum of 250 placement hours is recommended over duration of the course. During placement, learners will require support from a professional within the work environment who will provide professional development records.

Entry Criteria

Students should have placements established in preparation for this course and a good level of English and maths.

How will I be assessed?

You will be allocated an assessor who will undertake workplace observations to ensure vocational competency.

How much home study will I have to do?

You will need to study for approximately 3 hours per week at home and extra time will be required for revision nearer the exam date

How much does the course cost?

The course fee is £848.50 however, if you are earning below £25,750 or are on most means tested benefits, you only pay the £123 registration fee.

If you earn above £25,750 you will pay the registration fee and course fee.

Please note that your place will not be confirmed on the course until all fees are paid.
