LEVEL 2

The aim of this qualification is to prepare learners to work with children between birth and 5 years (with knowledge of children up to 7 years) or to enable progression onto the Level 3 Diploma for Working in the Early Years Sector (Early Years Educator).

Learners will need to be working or volunteering in a practical placement because an important part of the assessment process involves evaluation of skills in real working situations.

A minimum of 250 placement hours is recommended over duration of the course. During placement, learners will require support from a professional within the work environment who will provide professional development records.

Entry Criteria

Students should have placements established in preparation for this course and a good level of English and maths.
