We have recently been catching up with some of our past Itchen College International Alumni to find out where they are now and what they are doing. We will be featuring some stories to celebrate their achievements and successes.
First in the series is Regina Lam from Hong Kong who joined us to study an A Level Programme in 2016. Regina achieved excellent results with a triple Distinction* in Performing Arts Musical Theatre; Performing Arts Acting; and Performing Arts Dance. These qualifications alongside her Chinese & Theatre Studies A Levels, allowed her to progress to university in the UK and continue her dream of working in Performance Arts.
Regina is now working back in Hong Kong and has sent us the following details of her journey:
‘Hello, I am Regina Lam from Hong Kong, 2018 Itchen College alumni. My 2 years at Itchen, I took A Level Drama and Theatre Studies, BTEC Acting, Dance and Musical Theatre. It was quite a journey!
Looking back, I’m so grateful Itchen introduced me to the performance arts world, in a way I would’ve never expected, like trips to London, Disneyland Paris, and participating in national dance competition! Thank you to all the teachers who taught me throughout the years, and a BIG THANK YOU to my lovely host family! Thank you for supporting me to chase my dream!’
‘After Itchen I carried on my study at Liverpool Hope University, I graduated with a BA Creative and Performing Arts degree. It was quite an experience moving from the South to the North of England!’
‘Fast forward to 2023, I am currently based in Hong Kong, working as a full time English Communication & Performing Arts teacher. Sometimes I perform in shows with my students, which I enjoy very much. A BIG shout out to my A Level Drama teacher, you’ve inspired me to become a teacher. Thank you for being the BEST teacher I’ve ever known, Kate!’
