Grades 9-4 in English and four or more GCSEs at grades 9-4 or A*- C. Merit or above in a related vocational Level 2 qualification will also be accepted.

Proven practical ability, a willingness to publicly perform and a desire to progress in the Performing Arts is essential.

What You Will Explore
  • Throughout this course, you will delve into a wide range of acting styles and techniques, helping you to develop versatility as a performer. You will explore:
    • Classical and contemporary theatre styles
    • Improvisation and devising techniques
    • Physical theatre and movement
    • Voice and vocal techniques
    • Scripted performance and character development
    • Understanding and interpreting text for performance
    • The creative process, including directing and devising theatre pieces
    • The business of acting, including audition techniques and self-promotion

A series of modules will take students through acting training and will provide a basis for life as a professional performing artist. These modules are to be confirmed and will be tailored around the intake but may include:

  • Performing to an audience
  • Stand-up comedy/storytelling
  • Acting for film and TV
  • Audition for work/preparation
  • Vocal training
  • Theatre in education
  • Scripted theatre work

You will learn about Stanislavsky, Brecht and Artaud. It provides a distinctive and methodological approach to developing the actor’s unique ability and skillset.
