Entry Requirements

Grades 9-4 in English and five GCSEs at grades 9-4 or A*- C. Distinction in a related vocational Level 2 qualification will also be accepted.

Proven practical ability, a willingness to perform a range of classical and contemporary texts and a desire to progress in the Performing Arts are essential.

This is an enrichment qualification and will be additional to your core subjects. The course can be taken in conjunction with courses in Acting, Musical Theatre or Dance. It is also an excellent course to take alongside Public Services, Travel, Law, Media or English if you wish to pursue a career in acting or look to a job where public speaking is required.

 

What You Will Explore

During the LAMDA Bronze, Silver, and Gold courses, you’ll have the chance to explore a range of performance techniques and improve your abilities in both solo and group settings. Each level builds on the previous one, focusing on:

  • Bronze: The foundation of performance and communication. Students begin exploring the basics of acting, vocal techniques, and improvisation. This level encourages students to find their voice and build confidence in public speaking and stage presence.
  • Silver: Students delve deeper into acting, incorporating more complex scripts and performances. This level emphasises emotional range, character development, and the technical aspects of performing. The focus is on enhancing delivery and interpretation of more advanced texts.
  • Gold: At the Gold level, students refine their skills further, mastering both classical and contemporary works. This level challenges students with larger, more demanding projects, allowing them to perfect their craft and build a versatile portfolio of work.
