Entry Requirements

Grades 3-2 at English and Maths and two or more GCSEs at grade 3-2. All applicants must show an interest in working with children.

All applicants must show evidence of working with children (other than babysitting) either before initial interview or before enrolment.

What You Will Explore

Throughout the course, you’ll cover a range of essential topics, including:

  • Child development from birth to age seven
  • Supporting children’s play, learning, and development
  • Health and safety in early years settings
  • Safeguarding and child protection
  • Promoting positive behaviour and inclusion
  • Working with families and other professionals

You’ll also take part in a work placement, where you’ll gain hands-on experience in a real early years setting.

Please note: Students who take any Care course will be required to pay for a DBS (Disclosing and Barring Service) check. Support for this may be available.
